Apply for the Primary Sources Rationale Cohort
Extending the NCTE and Library of Congress partnership, NCTE announces the formation of new learning cohorts. Participants in the cohorts will identify how specific items in the Library’s online collection directly relate to learning objectives in ELA. Similar to the NCTE book rationale database, the contributions will be collected and made available to ELA teachers nationwide.
Applications are now open to participate in the learning cohorts. The opportunity is open to any NCTE member, and classroom teachers are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be prepared to engage in online meetings and asynchronous work to create an estimated 8–10 rationales each. Courtesy of the Teaching with Primary Sources grant, each participant will receive a stipend and support related to the 2024 NCTE Annual Convention.
Questions about the opportunity may be submitted here.
Adding to this momentum, a new book will be available this fall that explores teaching with primary sources in the ELA classroom. Stay tuned for more information!
